What is the ISO-22000 standard?

ISO-22000 defines and specifies the requirements to develop and implement a food safety management system, in order to achieve an international harmonization that allows an improvement of food safety during the course of the entire supply chain.

The legal and regulatory requirements are:

  • Requirements to develop a HACCP or HACCP system according to the principles set forth in the Food Codex.
  • Requirements for good manufacturing practices (GMP) or prerequisite program.
  • Requirements for a Management System.
